Nurse Helen McLaughin


Helen trained in Mater Hospital, Belfast and is highly qualified, with diplomas in asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (C.O.P.D), Coronary heart disease and diabetes.

She also has a certificates in cryotherapy and cervical screening, meaning she is a certified smear taker.

Helen's special area of interest is asthma care, running an asthma clinic in conjunction with the GP's. She also works for the Asthma Society of Ireland in their National Clinics.

Nurse Mary O'Connell

R.G.N, R.M.N

Mary has been with the surgery for 16 years, and is highly trained with diplomas in Coronary Heart disease, diabetes as well as completing completing an Asthma Management Course.

Her special interests include midwifery and women's health and is a registered smear taker with Cervical Check.

In her spare time, Mary enjoys walking, reading, cooking and art/design.

Nurse Catherine O'Connor


Catherine completed her Science Degree in Nursing in San Francisco College, California.

She has gone on to gain high qualifications with Diplomas in Coronary heart disease, diabetes and certificates in Asthma Care and cryotherapy. She is also a certified smear taker.

Catherine gained experience in oncology nursing bone marrow transplant UCSF, California.

Her specialist interests include diabetes and vaccinations.

Nurse Margaret McDaid

R.G.N, R.M.N

Margaret undertook her registered nurse training in Trafford, Manchester, her home town.

She completed her midwifery training in Sheffield and gained vast experience in this area in St. Marys Manchester, Liverpool Maternity Hospital and Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry.

Margaret has had expereince in a wide range of fields. She was the occupational health nurse in the Fruit of the Loom, Campsie, and has been involved with community nursing around Inishowen.

Her many qualifications include certificates in audiology, syringing and spirometry.

Margaret takes a keen interest in fitness and exercise as well as enjoying yoga and reading.
